Ten for Ten Again: How All Ten Listed Saudi Banks Grew Nine-Month Profit in 2026, While Third-Quarter Growth Slowed and Provisions Rose

Report summary

All 10 banks in the Saudi Exchange's Banks sector reported higher net profit attributable to shareholders for the nine months to 30 September 2026, on our count. It is the same result the first half produced, when all 10 also grew, on our count of the July filings. Combined, the 10 earned 73.58 billion riyals in the nine months, up 6.8 percent from 68.87 billion a year earlier, on our sum of the figures each bank filed on the Saudi Exchange between 19 and 22 October. That is a slower pace than the first half's 7.9 percent, on our calculation from the same July filings, and the difference sits in the third quarter. Taken on its own, the third quarter brought combined net profit of 24.75 billion riyals, up 4.8 percent on the same quarter of 2025 and 0.5 percent below the second quarter's 24.87 billion, on our calculation. Six banks earned more than a year earlier and 4 earned less: The Saudi National Bank, Alinma Bank, Bank Albilad and The Saudi Investment Bank, on our count. Three of those 4 name higher provisions for expected credit losses among their reasons, on our count. Combined third quarter charges for expected credit losses and other losses came to 2,970.5 million riyals against 1,878.8 million a year earlier, up 58.1 percent on our sum, and they were higher at 9 of the 10 banks, on our count.
