Egypt’s Frozen Vegetable Exports Hit 207 Million Dollars in 2025, Led by Saudi Arabia
Egypt exported about 207 million dollars of frozen vegetables other than potatoes, legumes, spinach and sweet corn in 2025, around 171,000 tonnes, ranking eighth among the world’s exporters with about 4 percent of global exports, the Food Industries Export Council said. Saudi Arabia was the largest market at about 32 million dollars, and the average export price worked out at about 1,211 dollars a tonne on our calculation.
Value has doubled since 2020
The category covers frozen vegetables other than potatoes, leguminous vegetables, spinach, New Zealand spinach, orache and sweet corn, uncooked or steamed or boiled in water. Export value grew at a compound annual rate of 15 percent over 2020 to 2025, and volumes grew at the same 15 percent rate. Five years at 15 percent multiplies a value by 2.01, which puts 2020 exports at about 103 million dollars, on our calculation. With value and volume rising at the same pace, the average price per tonne has stayed broadly flat across the period, so the growth has come from shipping more rather than from higher prices, on our reading. In 2025 alone, value rose 3 percent, which implies 2024 exports of about 201 million dollars on our calculation.

Approximate values as published by the Food Industries Export Council; the “Other markets” row is our calculation.
Saudi Arabia’s lead over the United States is about 2 million dollars on our calculation, and the five markets span Arab, American and European buyers. The remaining 102 million dollars, 49 percent of the total, is spread across a wide range of smaller markets, on our calculation. A 4 percent share at 207 million dollars implies world exports of the category of roughly 5 billion dollars, on our calculation.
Why it matters: frozen vegetables are a processed line in Egypt’s food exports, and five years of 15 percent annual growth in both value and volume, with half of sales going to five markets on three continents and the other half spread widely, give the sector a broad base rather than a dependence on one buyer.
Outlook: the council said the diversified market base, together with continued growth in value and volume, supports further expansion in existing markets and entry into new destinations.
