Carried in full from our Asia Market Wrap of 6 October 2026, Tuesday’s closes on the basis published there, gainers then losers; the Nifty 50 row is the National Stock Exchange of India’s own close, the Kospi change is measured against Friday 2 October across Monday’s Korean market holiday, and mainland China’s two boards did not trade, closed for the National Day holiday, all as disclosed there.
Why it matters: The board leaned red by count and green by force: the five declines all sat inside half a percent, while Riyadh’s 1.05 percent rise was the day’s only move beyond one percent and Kuwait’s 0.18 percent gain ended the board’s longest active slide, five sessions, on our published records. Doha and Abu Dhabi each handed back part of Monday’s advance inside a third of a percent, and both official rates moved the local currency’s way, the dinar firmer at 0.30810/20 and the pound firmer at 52.2658 buying on the central bank’s average market series. Across everything we published on Tuesday, Riyadh’s Tadawul All Share and Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 share the day’s best print at 1.05 percent higher and Seoul’s Kospi remains the deepest fall at 0.89 percent lower, on our count.
Outlook: This series returns tomorrow with Wednesday’s closes across the Gulf, Amman and Cairo; the Egyptian Exchange then observes the Armed Forces Day holiday on Thursday 8 October in place of Tuesday 6 October, with trading resuming Sunday 11 October, per its own notice. Our Europe wrap follows this evening with the continent’s closes, tonight’s commodities wrap reads the session’s written settlements on the same December and November crude series, and Wednesday’s Federal Reserve minutes, as published in our Week Ahead of 3 October, remain the week’s next policy test.
