Oman’s Economy Grows 5.1 Percent in Q2 to 9.9 Billion Rials as Oil Activities Climb 14.7 Percent
Oman’s gross domestic product at constant prices grew 5.1 percent year on year in the second quarter of 2026 to about 9.9 billion rials, from about 9.4 billion rials a year earlier, according to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information. Oil activities led with growth of 14.7 percent, while non-oil activities grew 0.7 percent.
Oil and Non-Oil Activities
Oil activities rose to about 3.4 billion rials from about 3 billion rials. Non-oil activities reached about 7.0 billion rials, against about 6.8 billion rials a year earlier, and on our calculation they remain about twice the size of oil activities.
Within non-oil activities, services grew 1.5 percent to about 4.6 billion rials, and agriculture and fishing grew 2.3 percent to 325 million rials, an increase of about 7.2 million rials on our calculation. Industrial activities eased 1.5 percent to about 1.9 billion rials, from about 2.0 billion rials.

Why it matters: Growth above 5 percent in the second quarter, led by oil and backed by gains in services and agriculture, shows Oman’s economy expanding at a solid pace through the middle of the year.
Outlook: Oman’s final Q2 data and the third quarter figures will show how far the strong pace in oil activities carries into the second half of the year.
