UAE Lowers November Petrol Prices by AED 0.24 a Litre, Super 98 at AED 4.16
The UAE lowered petrol prices for November, setting Super 98 at AED 4.16 a litre from AED 4.40 in October, the Gasoline and Diesel Prices Follow-up Committee said.
Motorists pay AED 0.24 a litre less for every petrol grade in November. This is the first reduction after increases in September and October. In The Edge’s reading, most of the relief goes to petrol users: diesel eases by AED 0.05 a litre, and its premium over Super 98 is now the widest of the eight months in the table below.
The committee approved the prices under the UAE’s monthly fuel pricing mechanism. In its release dated 31 October, carried by WAM, it describes the mechanism as “based on global fuel price movements”.
Every petrol grade costs AED 0.24 less
Special 95 is priced at AED 4.04 a litre, from AED 4.28 in October. E-Plus 91 is back under AED 4, at AED 3.97 a litre.
The release puts the petrol reduction at 5.6% and the diesel reduction at 1.04%. Because the cut is the same AED 0.24 on each grade, the percentage is largest on the cheapest one. Super 98 is 5.5% lower and E-Plus 91 is 5.7% lower. Special 95 sits in between, at 5.6%.
November and October pump prices (in AED per litre)
| Grade | Oct | Nov | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super 98 | 4.40 | 4.16 | -0.24 |
| Special 95 | 4.28 | 4.04 | -0.24 |
| E-Plus 91 | 4.21 | 3.97 | -0.24 |
| Diesel | 4.80 | 4.75 | -0.05 |

The equal cut leaves the grade ladder exactly as it was. Super 98 costs AED 0.12 more than Special 95, and AED 0.19 more than E-Plus 91.
The AED 0.19 gap between Super 98 and E-Plus 91 is the same in all eight months in the table below. The gap between Super 98 and Special 95, a grade the table does not show, is either AED 0.11 or AED 0.12 in each of those months. In each of the five month-on-month changes these releases cover, the three petrol grades moved within AED 0.01 of each other.
In The Edge’s illustration, a 60-litre fill of Super 98 costs AED 249.60 in November. In October it cost AED 264.00, so the saving is AED 14.40 a fill, and it is the same on any petrol grade.
Diesel eases AED 0.05 as its premium widens
Diesel is priced at AED 4.75 a litre for November, from AED 4.80 in October. On the same 60-litre fill, that is AED 3.00 less.
Diesel has cost more than Super 98 in every month in the table. Its premium is AED 0.59 a litre in November, up from AED 0.40 in October. In September it was AED 0.50.
At AED 0.59, the premium equals 14.2% of the Super 98 price. A year earlier it was 1.5%.
The premium has not widened in a straight line. In September, diesel rose AED 0.50 a litre while each petrol grade rose AED 0.20. October reversed part of that, with petrol up more than diesel. November’s AED 0.24 cut on petrol, against AED 0.05 on diesel, widened the gap again.
The gap was much narrower a year ago. In November 2025 diesel cost AED 2.67 a litre, AED 0.04 more than Super 98. In January 2026 the premium was AED 0.02.
Diesel has also risen further than petrol since the summer. From August to November, diesel is up 25.0% and Super 98 is up 15.6%.
November takes back part of October’s increase
October’s prices, set out at the end of September, raised Super 98 by AED 0.60 a litre in one month. The November reduction reverses 40% of that rise for Super 98 and E-Plus 91. For Special 95, whose October increase was AED 0.59, the share is 40.7%.
September’s prices had also risen. The September release put that month’s petrol adjustments at between 5.56% and 5.87%, each of them an increase. Diesel rose 13.2% in the same month.
For diesel, November reverses 10% of October’s AED 0.50 increase. Compared with September, Super 98 is still 9.5% higher and diesel 10.5% higher.

Prices remain well above last year’s levels. Super 98 is AED 1.53 a litre higher than in November 2025, a rise of 58.2%. Diesel is AED 2.08 higher, up 77.9%.
Because each petrol grade costs the same AED 1.53 more than a year ago, the cheapest shows the steepest percentage climb. E-Plus 91 is up 62.7% on the year, against 61.0% for Special 95.
January 2026 is the cheapest month in the table for Super 98 and diesel alike. From there, Super 98 has climbed 64.4% from AED 2.53, and diesel 86.3% from AED 2.55.
Of the five month-on-month changes the table shows, two are reductions: January 2026 and November 2026. In January, Super 98 eased by AED 0.17 a litre and diesel by AED 0.30. The month before, in December 2025, diesel had risen AED 0.18 a litre while Super 98 rose AED 0.07.
Each of the eight releases in the table came on the last day of the month before the prices take effect.
Figures are from the committee’s monthly price releases published by WAM, dated 31 October 2025 to 31 October 2026; percentages, differences and comparisons not attributed to a source are The Edge’s calculations.
