Kuwait’s KPC Lifts November LPG Prices, Propane to $720 a Tonne and Butane to $780
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation raised its November prices for propane and butane to $720 and $780 a tonne, the third monthly rise for both gases since August.
For Kuwait the November prices put a tonne of propane 51.6% above its November 2025 price, and a tonne of butane 69.6% above. In The Edge’s reading, butane is now the firmer of Kuwait’s two LPG prices: it has risen faster than propane against every comparison month in the change table below and opened a $60 premium over it.
The corporation gave the prices to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday 29 October, three days before the month begins. A year earlier the November prices were announced on 2 November, after the month had started.
Butane widens its premium over propane
November’s rise was $40 a tonne for propane, or 5.9% on October. Butane rose $50, or 6.8%. The October prices on the corporation’s own website stand at $680 for propane and $730 for butane.
The gap between the two gases has moved steadily in butane’s favour. Butane now costs $60 a tonne more than propane, against $50 in October. The gap was $35 in September and $20 in August.
Measured against the propane price, butane’s premium has grown from 3.2% in August to 8.3% in November.
A year ago the order was reversed. In November 2025 butane sold at $460 a tonne, while propane fetched $475.
The discount then shrank by $5 a month through the winter. It was $10 in December and $5 in January 2026, before butane moved to a premium by August.

Kuwait crude climbs 68.5% in a year
The two gases feed petrochemical plants and are also burned for cooking and heating, the corporation said.
The corporation says LPG prices are mainly affected by global oil prices, as well as by supply, demand and other factors.
Kuwait Export Crude was priced at $111.55 a barrel on 28 October, according to KPC’s own daily price. On the same date in 2025 it stood at $66.21, a rise of 68.5% in a year.
Over the same span butane rose 69.6% and propane 51.6%. The crude comparison rests on single trading days, so its base matters. A session earlier, on 27 October 2025, Kuwait Export Crude stood at $68.80; measured from that level, the rise is 62.1%.
Kuwait Export Crude stood at $85.00 a barrel on 29 July, the day before the August LPG prices were announced. By 28 October it had risen 31.2%. Propane gained 16.1% and butane 21.9% from August to November.
